How to Check Your Gift Card Balance Before Selling
Why Check Your Balance First?
One of the most common reasons gift card sales get rejected is an incorrect balance. Always verify your card balance before submitting — it saves time and ensures a smooth transaction.
How to Check Balances by Brand
Amazon Gift Card
- Go to Amazon.com → Account → Gift Cards.
- Click "Redeem a Gift Card" and enter your code.
- Do NOT click "Apply to your account" — just view the balance on the confirmation screen.
- Take a screenshot showing the balance and the last 4 digits of the code.
Apple / iTunes Gift Card
- Open the App Store → tap your profile icon → "Redeem Gift Card or Code."
- Enter the code (or use camera).
- The balance appears before redemption — screenshot it.
Steam Gift Card
- Open Steam → Games menu → "Redeem a Steam Wallet Code."
- Enter your code.
- The balance displays on the confirmation screen.
Google Play Gift Card
- Open Google Play Store → tap profile → Payments & subscriptions → "Redeem code."
- Enter the code.
- The value appears before final redemption.
Visa / Mastercard Gift Card
- Visit the website printed on the back of the card (e.g., giftcardmall.com, vanillagift.com).
- Enter the card number, expiration date, and CVV.
- The current balance is displayed.
Pro Tips
- Always screenshot the balance check: This serves as proof and speeds up verification.
- Do NOT redeem the card to your account: Redeemed cards cannot be sold!
- Check for regional restrictions: Some cards only work in specific countries.
- Look for expiration dates: Most gift cards do not expire, but promotional cards might.
